Blog your heart out tag!

I saw this tag on my friend Catherine's blog, which I would highly recommend you checking out, and she did not tag anyone but said for anyone to do it, so I thought I would do this as it seems like ages since I last did a tag post!

what/who encouraged you to start blogging?

I first started out blogging my photography work, but I was so worried about being mugged while out with my camera alone, I stopped, which is unfortunate. I then started blogging about nail art as it's something I have always loved, but more and more I wanted to post about all make up, not just nails so I decided to blog about all make up.

How did you choose which topics to blog about?

I love make up and nail varnish too much.. Plus I needed to justify buying all the make up! ;)

What is something most people don't know about you?

Something I do not talk about much is my anxiety, sometimes I spend hours crying on my bed because I cannot leave the house, some days will be better then others, but it's something that has got worse since going to uni as I have so much spare time and little reason to go out.

What 3 words describe your style?

Bold, dramatic, intense

What do you love doing when you're not blogging?

Well I am a student at the University of Bedforshire, so I spend some time either at uni or doing work.

Hope you enjoyed reading this, like Catherine, I will not tag anyone, but you are all welcome to do this!

June favourites

Hello everyone, we are a few days into July and I thought I would share with you some of my favourite make up throughout June!

Firstly is the Body Shop make up brushes! Unfortunately what I was bought I cannot find on their website but my sister bought me a set of their make up brushes for my birthday, 28th May. I already had their foundation brush which I absolutely adore, now I have 2 as well as a blusher brush, eye shadow brush, lipstick brush and a face and body brush. I really like them all, they are soft and I have had no bristles come out of them, these brushes are definitely worth an investment!

Secondly is Maybelline eye studio lasting drama gel eye liner 24h in intense black. I was lucky enough to buy this along with Maynelline's great lash mascara for £2 due to an incorrect price! the small pot the gel eye liner is in is fantastic quality and I love gel eye liner's, this is the best I have tried so far! It is extremely easy to apply!

Third is collection's lasting perfection 16 hr concealer in the shade fair. I do not think I have to talk about this too much as it is a favourite of many bbloggers! If you have not tried this, then I seriously recommend it plus it costs under £5, bargain!!

Next is Skin therapy's 3 in 1 make up wipes. I buy these in Wilkinsons and they are 2 packs for £1 with each packet having 25 wipes. I could not find them on their website. These are not the best wipes ever, but for 2p a wipe they remove most make up well and these are the wipes I use over 90% of the time! These make up wipes are as good as any others I have tried that cost £2-3 for 25 wipes and here you get 50! I think they are a bargain even if you use them to freshen up your skin on a hot day!

Next is OPI's nail lacquer shatter effect. Again I could not find this on their website. I really like OPI nail varnishes, if you find a shade you really like, they are worth the money. I used to use Barry M's nail crackle but I find this "crackles" better and dries even quicker!

Lastly is Bourjois volume glamour ultra black mascara. I was lucky enough to win this in a competition and I have loved this for a couple of months now, I find it gives great length and volume! This is my favourite mascara at the moment, winning me over the Body Shop and Maybelline mascaras I was previously using!

So there are my June favourites with some descriptions! What were your June favourites? Let me know below!

Thursday Thoughtnight - piercings

Hello everyone! Hope everyone is enjoying July so far! If you follow me online anywhere, you may know I have got some piercings a few weeks ago! The piercings I got were my right eyebrow, left side of my nose and a scaffold on my right ear. I'm here today to talk to you about deciding on piercings, what to do if people are against you getting them done and how much mine hurt!

So the first topic how to decide on piercings? This is actually difficult, generally you'll see people on a day to day basis and may see a certain piercing you like. If you're lucky to know someone with a piercing you like, you can always ask them about it, ask about the pain and where they got it done. You should always think for weeks/months if not even years before getting them done. If you are working or maybe leaving education to go into work, you will need to think about whether the job will allow piercings. If you are unsure then ASK! It'd be horrible to get a piercing and be happy with it, for your work to say they are not allowed!

Another problem I had was many people saying I would not "suit a piercing" and my boyfriend really dislikes facial piercings on females. I am one of those people who tend to care what other people think, I know it is my body and I should do whatever I want, but I don't want to upset anyone nor get a piercing that would not look very good on me. I spoke in depth to my boyfriend and expressed how the piercings would not change my personality plus it is only 2 piercings, after a while they would not be as noticeable as he would get used to them. Once I got his blessing, the next day I skipped university (despite it being my first year, I would not recommend skipping any form of education), to get my piercings. Below are a couple of pictures of what I looked like before and after, though they are both different angles and different looks but I hope you can see how little my face has changed as a result of piercings.

After piercings
Before piercings

In my opinion, the nose hurt the most getting it done, it made my eyes water which is a very common reaction so I have heard. the scaffold hurt a fair amount, much more then a lobe or eyebrow piercings, especially as 2 holes are created. The eyebrow piercing, did not hurt at all, I closed my eye, it felt like he just pulled at my eye brow and I did not realise he had done it, it hurt LESS then my lobe piercing. Again this is my experience, everyone has different pain thresholds, so your experiences will differ!

Picture from
I end this now with only one piercing, my nose got infected and my scaffold hurt so much, it made my Navicular fossa bleed on a daily basis, I struggled sleeping and I could no longer wear over ear or in ear headphones.

So when getting piercings:
DO compare different piercers, check the experience of the team, ask friends.
DO clean, I cannot stress this enough, I thought "oh it's been 3 weeks I'm sure it wont get infected", it will!!
DO ask your work/education if you can have piercings
DON'T be put off by other people's bad experiences, everyone goes to different places and has different experiences.
DON'T be put off by people who say it won't suit you, if you have a desire to have a piercing, then get one! Generally it is people with no piercings who say this.

MAC prep + prime sample review

Hello everyone! As you may or may not know, I am a student as money is always tight, somehow not for alcohol though! I have always wanted to try out MAC products as there are so many people who love them but they are too pricey for my budget. There are also the controversial few who say how bad MAC are who say they are worse then many high street brands! I was able to get this MAC sample online I believe via their facebook page but I cannot remember 100%.

According to their website, prep + prime calms and soothes the skin, blots away excess oil and reduces redness. This is a lot for just a primer to do but at $30 (£17.50 at today's exchange rate), you expect to have a lot of properties! I currently use Nivea's daily essentials express hydration primer which costs £3 or £4 depending where you buy it from!

MAC sample and it's cute packaging

As I though the MAC primer obliterates Nivea's primer! though for 4 or 5 times the cost you would expect it would! I will talk through their claims one by one and give you my opinion. Prep + prime does calm and soothe the skin, it has no scent and has a slight cooling feeling on the skin. It also blots away excess oil, I am not sure how, but my face feels fresher and less oily with this primer on, I do not suffer with oily skin as such so maybe this will differ depending on your skin type. It can be argued it evens out redness, I am a rosacea sufferer, the primer has a slight shine as you apply it, so the redness appears reduced but it look closely and it does not reduce redness! But it's claim is correct it appears more even, but it does not magically make redness disappear, nor does it claim too!

The product is a bright white, creating a slight shine and
reduces the appearance of redness!

I have not tried many primers, especially not in a similar price range to the MAC's. So the big question, will I be buying this instead of my Nivea one or similar prices ones? No. As much as I love this product and rate it really highly, I cannot justify spending £17.50 on 30ml of product as a student. Maybe in the future when I have a job, I may be able to treat myself to a full sized version of this sample. I would definitely recommend this, if you are able to afford MAC products, but to those who are like me and are on a budget, there are still really good primers out there for under £5!

Extracts bath salts

Hello everyone! I went back home for a few days, and since I had a bath, I thought I would try out these bath salts. They are called Extracts made for Tesco supermarket.

I bought these in a job lot of various beauty items. Shea butter is known to have many benefits but especially for its moisturising properties, this is the same for coconut but also has a wonderful smell. As I opened up the bag, there was a very strong smell of coconut, unfortunately as I poured some of the salt into the bath, this smell disappeared.

Despite using very warm water, the salt did not dissolve that well, the colour of the water was exactly the same and the water did not feel any different either. All that happened was I had a less comfortable bath and there was no smell of coconut. I cannot say either that afterwards my skin felt any better! What promised to be a great product turned out to be really disappointing. I would not recommend these to anyone, I am also put off to try and bath salts in the future.

Are there any good bath salts out there? What brand of bath salts should I look into next time?

Miss Sporty fabulous nail patches review

Hello everyone! I went out for a day in London to watch LCS which is a gaming event. I thought this would be the perfect time to try my Miss Sporty fabulous nail patches as I wanted to make an effort with my make up and nails! I have to admit I have tried nail patches/stickers before and to be honest I really disliked them but I thought I would give them another go, perhaps a different brand would be better then the ones I tried before.

£1 for all of these at Poundworld, bargain!

Unfortunately I was not too impressed with these either! The only positives I have to say is that these nail patches came in a set of Miss Sporty make up with a lip balm and a nail varnish for £1! So really every item is 33.3p which is really cheap for Miss Sporty as many items start at £1.99 each. The other positive is that there are a variety of designs and from a distance they look good on the nails.

Nail patches in their packaging

Now for the negatives, I personally find them difficult to stick onto the nail, I tried using nails without a clear coat, nails with a clear coat, even having a tacky coat of clear nail polish. I found it incredibly difficult to stick the stickers down, I had to use two top coats of clear nail varnish to try and seal it all in place! I also found the whole process time consuming, it would have been so much quicker for me to use crackle nail effects or similar to create awesome nail art within minutes, using these took me an hour!! Lastly they did not even last 24 hours, they felt so horrible on my nails I was picking at them getting them off while at the gaming event! It is really difficult to describe but they made my nails feel heavy and irritated so I ended up ripping them all off!

Miss Sporty nail patches zebra print
Finished result!

In conclusion I would not recommend these, unless you really wanted to try them out and find them for as little as I did. I love the Miss Sporty brand, in particular their nail polishes, but I am disappointed with their fabulous nail patches, they were not easy on, as described on the packaging. Let me know if you have tried these or something similar, what was your experience?

Looking at my depression

Hi everyone, it has been 5 weeks since I have last posted/blogged. So where have I been? Well being honest my depression has been really bad recently. It has now got to the point that I can only go out on a Monday, when I have university. Now that I no longer have to go in on a Tuesday, I only go out once a week. I started ordering my shopping online and yesterday I needed food badly, I was crying for 2 hours just because I could not face going out.

If I cannot muster up the confidence to go outside to get some shopping, you can only imagine I have not been in the mood for blogging. That aside I have been doing well at university. For those who do not know, I started my first year in February so I am doing a more intensive version of the first year to catch up to those who started in October 2013. I am enjoying the course and I do like the people in my class, the only problem is I haven't really met any friends. Being in a class of about 17, we all know each other and get along fine, but there is no one I see outside of university time, and no one that likes make up or gaming. At the moment, I am feeling incredibly alone, which is making me feel even worse.

I am definitely looking forward to next academic year where I will have more work to do, therefore less time over thinking and I hope to meet new people when I am put into the same class as those who started in October. I hope I will have the motivation to continue blogging, I do really enjoy it, especially as I have made friends via my blog. I am thinking of doing more posts about depression and my anxiety as well as some reviews.

Talkative Thursdays

Hi everyone! Sorry I have not been posting as much recently! I had an exam yesterday which despite a week of revising went very bad for the whole class. I have also been busy with sorting through my make up, in particular my nail varnishes. I am happy to announce I will be having a blog sale coming up! I have LOTS to sort through! My blog sale will open after my competition ends, which is in 6 days time, so maybe around the end of the month I will have my blog sale!

I had a lovely day out in London with my boyfriend on Saturday. For those who do not know, I have been with my boyfriend for over 5 years now! We went around a few places in London, taking pictures, it was such a beautiful day too! Below will be some pictures from my day out! Apart from that not much has happened! I'm starting to feel more at home now at my new place, which is good. I will be visiting my home town after my exam which is on my birthday which sucks, but I'm looking forward to being home for a few days.

Talkative Thursday

Hello everyone! Hope you are all well. How is the unpacking going you may ask, not very well! I've been spending more time doing uni work and talking to people rather then unpack. But I will do it one day, I also need to buy some storage before I completely unpack!

It's been an important week university wise, I have another exam on the 7th of May which as long as I revise, should be okay. But we also started on our poster presentation, this is worth 80% of 1 module! I have faith in our group but I am worried about letting the team down, I would hate to be carried to a good grade!

In other news I bought myself a PS3!  I have really missed gaming on a console and since the price has dropped a lot, I thought I'd finally get one! With exams coming up I cannot play it too much but I really cannot wait for some free time and play on it all day!

Lastly I'm trying to lose weight again. Having PCOS really means I struggle but I have been noticing my clothes that didn't used to fit now do! Which suggests I'm already losing weight, unfortunately I do not have any bathroom scales so I don't know how much weight I have lost! I have gained so much weight over the past couple of years or so due to PCOS, I'd like to be the weight I was when I started collage 5 years ago, and I'll see from there if I want to lose more!

Thank you for reading my weekly blog, let me know what you've been up to? Also any advice on losing weight? I'd love to hear your advice and maybe help each other along the journey!

Models own sticky fingers review

Hello everyone! So one of the 6 items I recently bought from Model's own was sticky fingers in POW nails red. Sticky fingers is a fairly new range from Models own that comes with 1 colour of nail varnish and stickers, to create some amazing nail art in seconds! Being a gamer I had to go for the POW nails red, this one comes with stereotypical comic book expressions such as "POW" and "ZAP". There are currently 7 colours in the range, 6 unique nail varnish stickers, with the POW nails coming in black as well as red. These cost £6 each and their whole range can be found on their website.

I really like this product, I love simple ways of achieving nail art and this does just that! As usual the nail varnish is superb, I love the shape of the nail varnish brush and the nail varnish itself gives a great coverage, I usually can get away with just the one coat! Below is the result I got from using Models own POW nails red, sorry for the poor picture, it was taken at night on my mobile, as my camera still needs to be unpacked!

Models own POW nails

Being honest there is a knack for using the stickers, I found the edges were difficult to stick down, you need to press them down firmly and apply at least one top coat, I had to use 2 top coats. I took this picture a couple of days ago and so far there has been no lifting of the stickers nor and chipping of the red nail varnish! I would recommend this for anyone who wants to try nail art! At £6 each, this is way cheaper and more fun then going to a salon a few times to get your nails done! Have you tried models own sticky fingers, or maybe want to try them? Let me know below, enjoy the rest of your day!

They see me hauling, they hating!

Hello everyone! I hope everyone has had a lovely Easter, I have been moving my stuff to my new place, there will be a whole blog post on this. So far there is no gas, electric nor internet, I didn't even check the water so I am still sorting it all out, hence why I have been posting less! Leading up to my moving in date, I decided it would be a fantastic idea to buy even more stuff for me to move! Anyway I thought I'd treat myself, I probably won't really be able to again until autumn! Below are some pictures with descriptions, I cannot remember who I bought some of the items from! I have bought these products over the past 6-8 weeks.

Above is a No7/Max factor haul, some of these items are used in my give away! I have used the max factor pan stick and I really like it! It covers my rosacea with no problems which is fantastic!

Above is my born pretty haul. I heard that these are cheap and the quality is okay. I haven't tried many of the products but it was incredibly cheap. I bought a few random bags so I didn't know what I was getting which was fun, though if I'm being honest, I didn't like the jewellery I got, but that's life, you win some and your lose some!

Above is a job lot I have bought on eBay, I cannot remember the cost, I have tried many of the nail varnishes before and I like them all so looking forward to seeing what shades I like the best!

Above is my models own haul, they had an offer on 6 items for £20! I have tried all apart from the sticky nails (red nail varnish). A review of the turquoise hyper gel will be coming up on my friend's blog and the others have reviews coming in the next few weeks!

Above and below are 2 different #BBloggers sales, I honestly cannot find the emails/tweets so I cannot give their names! I have tried the revlon liquid foundation, I bought it as to be honest I wanted to see how they have improved as I'm so used to using solid/mousse. I was pleasantly surprised! I have also tried the 2 ELF nail varnishes and they are great for the money, not the nest nail varnishes I have ever used but a bargain for the cost!

Lastly was this amazon haul! I love trying out new shampoos/conditioners and heat protection sprays! I have so much to use I still haven't tried them! A couple of the products were also for my give away, bought by amazon themselves for the cost of just under in store so they are genuine products! The Maybelline feline fabulous only cost me £2 or just over, it was incorrectly priced but I still got the product without having to pay the original price! It comes with a mascara and a gel eye liner, I love gel eye liners and I think they are the best product for application, in my opinion, I have used lots of maybelline mascaras before and know they are fantastic, I have no worries that this won't be the same!

It goes without saying that it won't be long until I have a blog sale! With all these new products I will be getting rid of some of the stuff I already have! There will be many reviews coming up and not just on my blog! Let me know if you have tried any of the products I have shown you, I'd love to hear all of your opinions!

Talkative Thursdays

Hello everyone, I'm back! After a good week and a half of being stressed out from moving and having various problems along the way, I am finally settled into my new home.  I have been so stressed out and to be honest, I haven't been in the right frame of mind to blog. I have moved about 30 minutes away from where I used to live, but I needed to get my own place. The place I now live in is at the top of my budget but it's a lovely area and only a 5-10 minute walk from the uni which means more lay ins!

Another bonus about this house is that it came with a bed and kitchen appliances. Every other place did not come with these so I was fine with paying extra in terms of bills to not have to spend money on a bed and going to a laundrette! I even have my own little garden area so I can hang my washing outside plus in the summer I can sit outside!

The frustrating thing is, as a February starter to university, Easter is the only time I get off all year! Christmas is my next time off and I have spent the whole time being really stressed about paperwork and moving. The move has not been smooth at all, it has taken a few days to move my stuff as I have no one in my family that can do it, I have been heavily relying on my boyfriend's parents to help me. I also had no Gas, electric nor internet at first. It's only today I have everything working apart from hot water in the taps and heating! It has been requested to take some pictures so I will post them below, I have unpacked about half of my things but I need to buy some storage to make the place look more presentable.

I am currently looking at blogging 3 times a week with Thursday being a definite day that I will blog, well I will try to blog! This will depend on my workload at university, I have exams coming up, including one on my birthday, which really sucks but I hope some of my uni friends will be able to celebrate it with me after the exam!

Get to know me tag

I was tagged by +Caledonian Kitty (twitter and blog) to do this tag! The only rules are to include who tagged you and tag some BBloggers at the end, also answer the questions! (:

Question 1 ~ Flats or Heels?:

Despite being 5 foot 0 tall, flats.. heels hurt my feet :(

Question 2 ~ What's Your Fave Nail Polish Brand?:

Models Own me thinks!

Question 3 ~ Top 5 Movies Of All Time?:

Question 4 ~ Fave Male and Female Singer?:

Matthew Bellamy and Hayley Williams

Question 5 ~ If You Could Take Only 3 Make Up Products To a Desert Island what would they be?:

Well let's think this through, it's unlikely anyone will be there, plus I'm assuming it's going to be hot. Sun cream would be essential, then I'm thinking one of those pocket size make up tool sets, with nail clippers and scissors etc then lastly some foundation in case there are fit men there :p

Question 6 ~ What's Your Fave Disney Movie?:

Wreck it Ralph it's the only one I can remember.. :/

Question 13 ~ Who Is your Fave Actress and Actor?:

As I don't watch films I don't really look out for actors/actresses but I like Kristen Stewart (insert witty comment about how she never smiles etc) and Chris Hemsworth (phwoar)

Question 14 ~  Your no1 Female Role Model and Why?:

Would it be clich√© to say my mum? She has been through a LOT, like seriously I wish I could say what but I feel it's inappropriate,  she's the strongest woman I know mentally and she has taught me a lot!

Question 15 ~ Who Are Your Top 5 Fashion/Glamour Icons?:

Going for celebs I like how they dress rather then proper glamour icons, if you know me, you can tell I'm into fashion as a plus sized female, I wear whatever fits! Fearne Cotton, Hayley Williams, Kristen Stewart, Kelly Brook and Katy Perry.

Question 16 ~ What's your Fave Chocolate?:

Talkative Thursday

Hi everyone, so this week has been a busy one! I have been filling out a lot of paper work for my new home! So much for Easter holidays! The maisonette (a studio generally attached/part of a property with it's own entrance" is right on the top of my budget, but the area is beautiful plus it's nearly fully furnished!

I hope to move in on the 19th so I will be very busy the next couple of weeks but I will be doing my best to keep on blogging! I still haven't worked out how I am getting my stuff to the new house yet, so this will be fun! The best plan I have so far involves a lot of bin bags and cabs!

I am getting so close to my give away, which will start when I have 100 Bloglovin followers, as I type this, I have 95 followers on my BLOG, many people follow me without following my blog, which is frustrating as I have only been linking my blog, yet many do not want to follow my blog and don't want to see when I write new ones, which is the whole point of following someone!

I will be going home, I still need to pack some things to leave at home, I have been buying so much since being up here and I need to bring back some of my winter clothes I will not wear for a few more months

I have been under a lot of stress and this is supposed to be my time off before going back to uni, I just hope all this stress will lead me to getting this property, otherwise I will have to start all over again!I am looking forward to doing some DIY projects to make it feel more homely and make the most of the space available. I will of course be blogging about this. It's not the most talkative of Thursdays but hopefully in a couple of weeks time I would have settled down, have internet installed and able to blog properly!

The Body Shop body butters

Hello everyone! So for those who are regulars to my blog and my twitter account, you will know one of my favourite companies is the Body Shop. They make so many beauty products as well as make up, in so many beautiful smells, there is something for everyone! The Body Shop have 5 core values, against animal testing, supporting community trade, activate self esteem, defend human rights, and protecting the planet. During my A levels, I studied environmental science and learnt a lot about these topics, many big companies make millions of pounds every year by destroying the environment, giving farmers barely giving enough money to survive, there is so much more detail I could go into, but I feel this is another blog post all together! The Body Shop is making a huge step in the right direction with over 1 million signatures signing their pledge to prevent animal testing worldwide. 2013 saw the EU banning the import and production of products that test on animals as well as China adopting new policies when it comes to animal testing and gaining the support of Vietnamese authorities to call for bans on animal testing. It should be noted that animal testing is still carried out in many countries by companies, but gaining awareness and more laws is a massive step in the correct direction, these things cannot happen over night! As well as this, the Body Shop has raised millions for charities, more info can be found in the above links.

The body butters currently in my collection

Anyway back to the body butters! I have been using these for years. My sister Kathryn is absolutely addicted to the Body Shop and got me hooked! I've been using their products since before my prom in 2008 so we are talking at least 6 years! The body butters are one of my favourite non make up products, their foundation is my favourite product of theirs without a shadow of a doubt! I love you can buy the body butters in 2 sizes, there are always samples to try in store so you can smell them and use them before buying, there are so many smells/flavours and finally the big ones are on sale fairly often so you can get a bargain!

The big body butters cost £13 (excluding love your body discount) and the smaller ones I believe are only available in sets which is a shame as you used to be able to buy them on their own. The body shop have a sale on at the moment where some body butters are only £5! I'd really recommend stocking up now!

I thought I'd go through some of the ones I've used and talk about which ones I like the most! One handy tip is when you have used these or any body butters in similar containers, don't throw them away! They are fantastic for storing anything small, hair bands, hair clips, some change, buttons, earrings and anything else small you can think of! I'd recommend washing them up though, even if you use all the product, there will always be a tiny bit left so wash them with warm water and washing up liquid, leave them to dry over night or dry them with a tea towel and hey presto, you got yourself some mini storage!

Unfortunately the pictures do not show how many
I have already used..

Starting with my 2 ultra favourites, Moringa and sweet lemon. Again regulars to my blog or twitter will know my favourite scent is lemon and the Body Shop's sweet lemon smelt of lemon sorbet, unfortunately this range was discontinued (along with my favourite foundation!). I was lucky enough for my boyfriend's dad to buy me a big sweet lemon set so I have plenty to keep me going! As for Moringa, I have already used 2 big tubs of body butters! It's my favourite non fruit scent, it smells of white flower and shea butter.

I was pleasantly surprised by the strawberry and satsuma body butters! They are not over powering, for me anyway, and the strawberry is not overly sweet, it's so nice I have a set which included a body polish (nearly finished with) a bath lily and shower gel, which I will use when I move out! For anyone wanting to try a fruity Body Shop body butter, I'd recommend these 2 to have a smell in store, in the words of my sister "have a sniff!"

For me personally, I am not a fan of chocomania or their vanilla range, I find them both too over powering and too sweet, but I would recommend them to anyone who likes a sweet smell! Also out of the ones pictured, my least favourite is mango. This is because I do not like mangos and this was a gift from my sister, I would have never bought it! But it only has 1 more use before it becomes a storage pot!

In conclusion I am a huge fan of the Body Shop's body butters. As I said before, if you've never tried them, there are samples for you to test in store, not just for body butters but for nearly everything. Also every times I have been in the Body Shop, the staff have been super helpful whether I'm looking to buy for myself or others. What Body Shop products are your favourites? Or let me know what ones you want to try below! I want to try their tea tree and olive collections!

Collection work the colour trio eye shadow review

Hi everyone! As you may know I live on a budget and one of my favourite make up companies is Collection, formally Collection 2000. I saw this trio eye shadow in Superdrug and just had to have it! There are various shades this can be bought in, as well as Little Mix edition ones, found here. I bought mine in the shade smoke screen. They come with 2 eye shadows that compliment each other and a multi purpose cream highlighter.

Collection's work the colour trio in the shade smoke screen.

These cost £3.19 in most stores and online, but keep an eye out for any deals! I find these trio eye shadows perfect, they are so compact but include an applicator! For the day time I will just use the grey shade on it's own but at night I will use the grey shade along with black for a more dramatic look, these eye shadows also work with Collection's extreme 24 hour felt eye liner which I am a HUGE fan of, I bought it in the Boots 3 for 2 and I reviewed that along with their foundation and concealer here.

Another thing I love about this product is if you're going away for a couple of days, this is so handy! You can create multiple looks without having a big palette taking up room in your bag! I personally think this product is perfect, it does not bother me it lacks a mirror, I have mirrors in my make up bags! I cannot sing their praises any higher, I would recommend this product, it's very good value for just over £3 and available in many shades not just grey! What are your favourite collection products? Let me know below, I love all their products, nothing I've bought has ever disappointed me!

The Body Shop hair chalk review

Hi everyone, sorry it has been a while! But I will tell you why in my talkative Thursday later this week! Last week I went into the Body Shop and well bought things I didn't need putting it honestly! But then without that impulse buy, you wouldn't be reading this! I bought both available shades of their hair chalk, falling for blue and tickle me pink. I will be reviewing falling for blue as I may be giving away tickle me pink in my upcoming give away *cough cough wink nudge*.

Beautiful packaging

I was really excited when these hair chalks came out, I had heard of people using arts and craft chalk to temporary colour your hair, but I was waiting for a product that was specifically for use on the hair by a brand I trusted. For those new to this, using chalk in your hair DOES NOT DYE IT. So if you're at school/work and fancy a flash of colour over the weekend, as long as you have a shower and shampoo it, it will come out.

Instructions, also given in other languages

The body shop's hair chalk has fantastic instructions, I have never used chalk in my hair before, nor ever tried to do streaks in it. It is highly recommended you wear a towel around your shoulders. I didn't as my pyjamas are blue and it did come out fine, but you don't want lots of blue or pink on a nice top before going out!

I can smile at times.. No make up on!

Looks like an eye shadow outside of the packaging!!

I personally couldn't get the knack of getting the streaks in the right places, maybe it may have been better for someone to have done it for me. I had no problem removing the chalk from my hair and it stayed in when I wanted it too! I would recommend these for anyone who isn't allowed to dye their hair pink/blue for what ever reason, whether it's work or school! This would be fun for a fancy dress party or maybe a non uniform day! It's also great for those who want to change their hair constantly without all of the damage that can come with dying. These cost £5 each but with their love your body card they are £4.50 each, great to buy a miniature shampoo/conditioner with it to get an extra stamp!

Have you tried the body shop hair chalk or maybe you want to try it in the future? Let me know your thoughts below!

Talkative Thursdays

So Laura, another late talkative Thursday, what's the excuse this time? Well I've had a lot of university work to do the past few days. If you do not already know, I am a February starter and I am doing my first year in half the usual time. I've been really stressed out but I have done 5 out of I believe 12 things that go towards my final grade for first year! I have got a 2:1 (B) in everything I have done so far so I hope to get a 2:1 overall in my first year!

Luckily it's Easter holidays, the only holiday I get as I have to come in over summer, after today I will not have any stress for 2-3 weeks apart from when I move! I'm really looking forward to moving out, as much as I love living with my boyfriend and friends, living with 8 other people is very stressful at times, lots of little things annoy me, which has led me to spending more money to live on my own instead in student/shard accommodation.

I have been buying for my give away that will take place when I have 100 bloglovin followers on my blog! I have already said I will be giving away 1 body shop hair chalk in the shade tickle me pink and I have already said multiple prizes, I have not decided whether this will be 2 or 3 prizes yet! I can also now say there will be other body shop items, max factor, nivea, barry M, rimmel, astor and CK. I will give further information when I reach 100 bloglovin followers!

Thanks for reading, please share my bloglovin and follow my blog so the give away can start ASAP! :)

Not another tag

Hi everyone, my lovely friend Catherine from beauty is in the eye of the beholder tagged me in Hayley from tea party beautys tag.

The Rules

You must include both Hayley & the person who tagged you (which is Catherine) in your post (and the rules too).
Once you've answered all your questions you need to tag 5 people.
Also if you tweet Hayley (@teapartybeauty) and myself (@maccers26) the link to your post, we will RT.
If you are tagged & don't do the post you will have bad luck for 68.5 years. FACT.

You've made it BIG & bagged some VIP Fashion Week tickets. You lucky devil you. But in your rush to get there & get yourself noticed you forgot your VIP Passes. The guy on the door says he will cut you a deal, you can go in only if you sacrifice either your Front Row seat, backstage privileges or goody bag. What's it gonna be?

Hmm it depends whether I knew what was in the goody bag in advance! Since I've mad it big I may not even need/want it! If the goody bag is good then I'd give up my front row seat, but if I can't find out about it then I'd sacrifice the goody bag!

You're making a new Subscription box, what 4 items & which dreaded perfume sample would you include in it?

I have actually thought about making a box, but it wouldn't be subscription and you would KNOW what you are buying! Instead maybe this or maybe that! Anyway I think it'd be more make up based, I'd like to have different themed ones if it was a subscription box! I'd include an eye shadow, a lip stick/gloss, an eye liner and a blusher, a nice mix of everything. As for the sample, it'd be Hugo Boss woman, it's my favourite perfume so I'd steal a couple! :p

What's your biggest blogging bug bear? The one thing guaranteed to make your blood boil & have you screaming/eye rolling at your laptop?

Actually this happened the other day! There was a debate about how to blog on a budget, during the #BBloggers chat. There was many great suggestions. One of my suggestions was to buy online. Unfortunately I was inundated with angry replies saying everything online is fake etc. I was linked an article where someone had an allergic reaction to fake MAC products. This is because they bought a £25 product for under £10 new, if that doesn't ring alarm bells of fake then well you get what you pay for! I only make 50p-£1 savings and official branded websites, they can have online only deals, the Body shop being one I use often! I was really annoyed how people reacted to a genuine good way of saving money/blogging on a budget as a result of stupidity, if you're going to buy from dodgy websites, buying from abroad, buying a product that is ridiculously under priced then in my opinion and sorry if it offends but you deserve to get fake products! You don't get something for nothing! Also those who are against PR samples! I would be annoyed if people didn't mark PR sample blog posts, but everyone I follow clearly marks them. If you really don't like PR samples then don't read those blog posts! Anyway rant over...!
No more joining in Twitter chats only slightly relevant to your blog. You can only join in one blogger chat a week for the rest of your blogging days, which one's it gonna be & why?
It would be the #BBlogger chats, I've met some nice people as a result of them and I feel it's one of the biggest chats out there for beauty bloggers!
'Fess up, do you actually own any MAC? If so what don't you like about the product?
Nope! I blog on a budget, as a uni student MAC is way out of my price range! One MAC product could be a week's worth of food for a uni student!
The blogging Gods ban arm swatching, which body part will you swatch on now?
Oh I usually swatch on my hand! I only swatch on my arm if I'm reviewing a palette as I only have small hands!
You can no longer have Yankee Candles & Perfume Bottles in the background of your shots, what other inanimate object will you choose?
I never do this, as much as they make beautiful pictures, I think they are too distracting from the actual thing you are reviewing! I personally like a white background as I am boring!
Your blogs Instagram is it for cats or meal shots?
It's mainly for selfies and anything I buy or is bought for me, I need to use it more! My instagram can be found here!

Barry M dazzle dust review

Hi everyone! So as my 3rd memory card reader has failed on me, I've had to switch around what reviews I am writing.

I have been using Barry M's dazzle dusts for years. During year 10 of secondary school,  2006-2007, I first discovered these dazzle dusts. I had a phase of really bright eye shadow, as I have rosacea, I found bright eyes to distract away from looking at my bright red face. The picture below shows me in year 10, aged 14-15 with pink Barry M dazzle dust on, this photo was taken 6-7 years ago when cameras on mobiles were pretty rubbish, so it's nearly impossible to see. I wanted to show how long I have been using these products for and how much I like them as I still use them even today!

Aged 14-15 with Barry M glitter dust on

Today I have 4 in my collection. I have to admit I do not use these very often as I don't wear bright colours that often, I tend to either not wear eye shadow, or go for silvers and nudes! As with other Barry M products, there are a range of colours, and there are even lighter shades, I have my eye on gold iridescent. Dazzle dusts cost just under £5 each and for some that may seem a little steep as you can get palettes for under £10 with many more colours. But Barry M dazzle dusts LAST FOREVER. In some of the pictures I have taken, it looks like I haven't used them but I can promise you all I have used them several times!

Below is a couple of pictures of me using Barry M dazzle dusts a week or 2 ago, I used a brush which I bought as an eye liner applicator but it's not great, but perfect for precision dazzle dust!

Rocking out some PJs as I get ready!
Not sure with my face here but I think
it shows the eye make up better.

I would really recommend dazzle dusts to anyone who likes dust/loose eye shadow. It can be a little messy if you're not used to using them, I find it helps to tap any excess powder first before applying! They last a really long time as I said before, so they are worth the cost. They last on the eye for hours and are easy to remove despite being glittery. I really want to expand my Barry M collection, I LOVE their nail varnishes and I would like to try more of their make up. Below is is a picture of swatches and what they look like, I think the pots are really cute and easy to store. The pictures are sub optimal as they were taken on my phone, but I really hope you understand my love for Barry M, a company I have been using for 6-7 years now and would not stop using!

Lush - Dragon's egg bath bomb

Like many of you, I LOVE LUSH. When you enter the shop, you want to smell everything! The staff are always so friendly but don't make you feel awkward or you HAVE to buy something like many other shops. For those who read my blogs often or follow me on twitter, you'll know my favourite scent is Lemon. I have so many lemon beauty items, mainly with thanks to the Body Shop. When smelling the bath bombs in LUSH, I knew the dragons egg was the one I needed to buy! As well as Lemon oil, there is a hint of jasmine, which has different properties including helping sensitive skin, mood uplifting, helping stress and helping with muscles pains/aches.

I really recommend the dragons egg for those who love the smell of citrus or lemon sherbet! Even before I used it, I could smell it for days every time I walked past where I stored it! I forgot to take pictures of it in the bath *sorry* but I can describe it. It turns the bath water orange, the middle of the dragons egg is orange and has gold glitter in the middle.

The bath bomb paints a picture of being in a dragon's lair, orange maybe being lava, usually there is treasure, so within the middle is gold, just like in a lair. The white creates a smoky top layer, being the steam/mist from the heat. The confetti circles that dissolve could be gems. Maybe I'm looking way into this, but it's the picture it painted for me!

The Dragon's egg costs £3.25 and more information and pictures can be found here.

The only other LUSH product I have tried is the comforter, are there any other products you recommend apart from the bubblegum lip scrub? It's in my Spring wish list and I hope to buy one over Easter!

Spring wishlist!

Hello everyone, I've seen so many of you do wishlists, so I thought it's about time I did one, I think the last one I did was before Christmas last year! I hope you enjoy this and gives you some ideas of items you want to try out!

All images are taken from Google images and edited by me.

You may have already noticed a slight theme, nail varnishes, those who see my twitter or blogs a lot, I LOVE nail varnishes so much!

Starting with the top left is Barry M's silk nail paint. These cost £3.99 each but you can generally find a deal when it comes to Barry M in the high street/drug stores. Barry M is one of my favourite nail varnish brands so it's little surprise these nail varnishes made it onto my wish list! I especially like the white and lilac, with the blue and mint very close behind!

Top middle is the LUSH bubblegum lip scrub. I would be very surprised if you haven't heard of this! It's comes in popcorn and mint julips flavours. I have tried all 3 when I last went into LUSH (the town I have moved too has a LUSH *yay*) I loved the bubblegum and popcorn ones, bubblegum seems to be the most popular to BBloggers. I wish I bought one, but ended up buying bath bombs and a bubble bar. Hopefully I will buy a bubblegum one very soon, I have heard they do wonders for your lips! This costs £5.50 which is a little pricey compared to a lot of lip products found on the high street, but I have been told it is worth the money!

The top right is Sleek's face form contouring kit. I have heard a lot about Sleek's face products, especially their contouring kits, blushers and eye shadows. I don't contour at all! I know I should but having rosacea, I just want it all covered up! For £9.99 it looks fantastic and their website gives a great step by step how to use, brilliant for a beginner like me! This comes in 4 different shades, fair, light, medium and dark.

The bottom left is Models own speckled eggs. I have seen some bbloggers post about these and they look so cute! These are perfect for spring, I love the mint and blue ones, is it just me or when on, they remind you of Cadbury mini eggs? These cost £5 each but I have occasionally seen 2 for £8 on the high street, so it's always worth a look around the shops to pick up a bargain!!

The bottom right is Models own sticky fingers. These cost slightly more then the nail varnishes above, costing £6 each. But for £6 you get simple nail art! Anyone can do this, you paint your nails as normal and use the stickers provided to create a personalised manicure! Being a gamer or a "nerd" I love the comic designed stickers as seen on the red nail in the picture. I also love the white and pink, I think this is a fantastic idea, especially to those new to nail art and want to start somewhere basic.

I hope you enjoyed reading this, let me know what items are in your wishlist below!
