I'm going to university.. In February!

Hello everyone! I asked on my twitter whether you wanted me to talk about me getting into university, and you guys did so here it is! I will be studying Criminology at the University of Bedfordshire, in Luton. My course starts on the 17th February 2014, which is very unusual many of you will think. I was very surprised to see how many universities offer some courses that start in January-February. Not all courses are available, I was lucky that one of my options for UCAS was available to start sooner then in October 2014. I applied directly through the university of Bedfordshire and was accepted fairly soon after.

As I type this I do not know exactly when I register nor my timetable (I should get it when I register) and I do not know 100% about my student finance. Many of my dates to get student finance was 2013 of January 2014, which worries me as I will only have £2,000 in April to last me until September/October as well as having no money until April!

As I understand it, I will not be getting a summer holiday, I will be working all the way to mid September and get 2 weeks off before my second year. I will be joining those who started in October 2013 and I have no idea whether I will get Easter off or not!

I would like to write a few more blog posts about starting university in February, there's very little information about it and I'd like to share my experiences with everyone. Even the university's website and UCAS has very little information! As I have previously said, blogs will be out when I am free and able to write them, I will have a better schedule when I get my timetable, in 2 weeks or so.

If you have any questions, ask me below in the comments. Also, let me know if you are starting university in February! It'd be great to hear of people going through the same as me!

  3. Congratulations on choosing to study Criminology, Laura! I hope you're having a blast with your university life. Remember to keep track of the studies, but don't forget that a little bit of fun on the side would do wonders! Good luck!
