Zoella scrubbing me softly smoothing body scrub

Knowing the Body shop discontinued their sweet lemon body scrub, I am on the search for a new body scrub. With the Body shop scrubs being £13.00 (200ml) or £15.00 (250ml), I thought I would try something that is less expensive. At the time Zoella's new range was about to be launched in Superdrug stores in the United Kingdom. Another bonus is I am a university student and I have a NUS extra card, which gives you 10% off Superdrug!

I love this packaging.

Scrubbing me softly is a part of Zoella beauty's new tutti fruity range. Above shows the packaging of the body scrub. I honestly think it is really cute, I love the yellow spots! This costs £7.00 for 280g. I had a look online of how to convert grams into millilitres, for water it is 1g = 1ml but for other substances it is slightly different! But I believe 280g is more than what you get from the Body shop.and it costs £5.00 less, so what are the differences?

Close up of the scrub.

The main difference with this body scrub is that it is a sugar scrub rather then a salt scrub. I find this scrub to be more gentle. To me, this looks really similar to Soap and Glory's scrub em and leave em body buff, which I do not believe to be a bad thing! The scent of this is really gentle so you can use this before going out without worrying it will clash with perfume. The scent is a very light blueberry scent to me, which considering it has blueberry in, makes sense! One thing that surprised me about this product is the consistency of it. This is much thicker then other scrubs I have used in the past, I would say the consistency is similar to a body butter, if not a little thicker! I do find this a little tricky to get out of the pot, luckily I have nails to help dig some out. I do find that this is easy to spread on the skin. I have heard this works really well with exfoliating gloves, which I am yet to try, but I find using my hands and washing off with warm water, really leaves my skin feeling smooth and soft!

Overall I think this is great value for £7.00! It is gentle on the skin, makes my skin feel smooth and soft. I personally quite like a body scrub to have a slightly stronger smell and to be a thinner consistency, I find it easier to scoop it out of the pot! But it is such good value and does a great job, I cannot argue with that! I would recommend the smoothing body scrub and possibly will repurchase it, but I would like to try some more body scrubs that are around the £10 range. Have you tried anything from the new Zoella range? Also are there any body scrubs you would recommend? Let me know below!

  2. The packaging on all her products is so cute! I've been running out of my Lush Rub Rub Rub so I'm in need of a new exfoliator!
