Baker Days letterbox cake review and give away!*

Baker Days are a lovely company who make a wonderful selection of personalised cakes for all different occasions. Not only are there hundreds of different designs to choose from, you can design your own like I did! Baker Days kindly sent me one of their letterbox cakes to try out, and have given me the opportunity to run a competition where you too could win a letterbox cake worth at least £14.99! If cupcakes are more your thing, they also sell personalised cupcakes as well as cupcakes with designs on, which are so cute, my favourite ones are the Christmas ones!

I decided to create my own design as firstly it is not my birthday until next year, secondly I wanted to see the quality of having a photo printed onto a cake and thirdly, seeing my blog's logo on a cake is awesome! As the name suggests, the letterbox cake fits perfectly through the letterbox! So if you are sending this to someone else, you do not need to worry that they may not be in! This is so convenient and perfect to surprise someone with.

I did not eat this cake straight away, these cakes can stay fresh an incredible 14 days! This is due to them being in a tin and wrapped. I waited a couple of days to eat this, to see how fresh it stayed, very fresh is the answer!

So you are probably wondering how a cake coming through a letterbox can be a surprise. The box it comes in is plain white and has no logos on it whatsoever, only when it is opened, you will see the tin as well as the other goodies. You do not just get a cake! You get 3 balloons, 2 candles, a party horn and a little greetings card from Baker Days!

The icing on the cake was patterned as requested and it covers the whole board it is on, the extra icing was eaten by my mum! I am normally one of those icing peelers! There was always one person at a party peeling off their icing for someone else to eat, that was me! But I ate all the icing on the cake and it was really nice. It has sweet, vanilla taste and was really light and did not just taste of sugar. Both my mother and I enjoyed the cake, the sponge was light and sweet, my mum decided to eat hers with a bit of fruit where as I ate it as it was.

Those who are on a gluten free or dairy free diet might be wondering, what about us? Well the great news is that Baker Days caters for those who are on a gluten free or dairy free diet! This is great because from what I have seen in shops, there is so little selection of gluten or dairy free products.  The giveaway includes the gluten free or dairy free cakes which do cost £3 more when bought from the Baker Days.

After the cake has been eaten and the balloons have gone down, you are still left with a lovely small tin. I have used mine to put hair clips and hair bands in but it can be used for buttons, stationary, money or anything small and flat!

The competition details are as follows. The prize is 1 letterbox cake by baker days. You can use one of the designs on theirt website or choose your own design like me! This is open to the United Kingdom and Ireland only, sorry! The competition ends at midnight  To enter all you need to do is follow Baker Days on twitter and have an email address so you are able to tell them your design and what cake you would like and your address. The winner will be chosen at random by Rafflecopter. There are addittional entries, but you do not need to do these to enter. You can choose from vanilla, chocolate chip, gluten free or dairy free but the winner will need to specify this when giving their design details and address to Baker Days.

Finally thank you for reading and thank you Baker Days for this opportunity. Good luck everyone who enters! Baker Days can be found on FacebookTwitter or Google +

  4. I'd love to create my own on their website as I'd choose a design ''will you be my maid of honour'' because I'm asking the person very soon and think it would be a great surprise way to ask and a memory to cherish forever. We could then celebrate her saying yes by eating some yummy cake!
